Safety Manager - CO
Job purpose
Plans and implements the safety program to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free
work environment on every project for direct hire individuals and sub-contractors, alike. Also, works with the project team to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved, with the following expectations: safety goals are achieved on every project, no accidents or near misses, no OSHA violations and employees have a positive attitude toward safe work practices.
Duties and responsibilities
Assists with all aspects of the Environmental, Safety & Health Program
- Development and maintenance of the written ESH Program manual
- Development of Site Specific Safety plans
- Ensures company meets or exceeds Environmental, Safety & Health compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensures all ESH training regulatory requirements are met and tracks all training records
- Develops weekly Toolbox Talks & tracks quantity by supervisors
- Ensures monthly superintendent ESH inspections are completed
- Performs ESH site audits
- Manages new employee safety orientation program
- Ensures JHAs are developed for all non-routine tasks and per ROCIP project requirements
- Along with Risk Control Manager, ensures incident report forms are submitted in a timely manner and assist in incident investigations and follow-up reports
- Manages the respiratory protection program - schedules employee evaluations, fit testing, and training
Qualifications
- Degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health or related ESH degree.
- 1-5 years' experience in safety management
- Knowledge of governmental ES&H standards, rules, and regulations and proficiency in applying them to construction projects.
