Human Resources Intern
Position Summary
The HR Intern will support the Human Resources department with a focus on Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), employee benefits, and general HR duties. This role is designed to provide practical experience in a professional HR environment and offers the opportunity to learn various aspects of HR operations including systems, onboarding, and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the HRIS Manager with creating and updating employee records in the HRIS system.
- Run and audit HRIS reports to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
- Support new hire set-up, including system entries, paperwork, and orientation preparation.
- Help coordinate and set up job site events and employee engagement activities.
- Assist with benefits administration including enrollments, status changes, and tracking.
- Update HR documents, templates, forms, and policy files as needed.
- Maintain organized electronic filing systems for personnel records.
- Respond to general employee inquiries or direct them to the appropriate team member.
- Provide support for HR projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Interest in learning about HR systems, onboarding, benefits, and compliance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to take initiative and learn.
